Last Seen: vs. Kurt Angle - Summerslam, 2001

Yes I also thought that the last time it ever came out was against The Rock in the main-event of WrestleMania X-Seven, but apparently it made another appearance a few months later against Kurt Angle at SummerSlam.

It was already semi-retired by that point, as Austin essentially blamed it for costing him the win against Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1996. With nearly half an hour gone, he wrapped the Hitman up in the sleeper only to have his opponent use the ropes to push him back, roll him over, and wrap him up for the pin.

Following that he dropped the move entirely and fully committed to the stunner as this finisher of choice. It still did crop up on occasion, and usually when he was working as a heel, as a way to wear his opponent down mid-match. He even co-opted the Sharpshooter now and then for some added visual poetry.

The final straw for the move came at SummerSlam '01 though, where Angle managed to utilise the exact same counter as Bret Hart. Sadly for him, he only got a 2 count, but Austin never attempted it again.
