10 Predictions For NXT After TakeOver: San Antonio
7. Eric Young Vs. Roderick Strong
The two non-title matches in San Antonio gave a good indication of who NXT want to push going into 2017. Eric Young, heavily aided by his Sanity brethren, went over Tye Dillinger while Roderick Strong put away his rival Andrade Almas.
NXT is currently a little bit light on top contenders to fill the void once Samoa Joe and Nakamura eventually move on to the main roster, so they ought to get to work on developing these two guys as genuine threats. Young's potential is heavily dependent on the success or failure of his stable, while Strong is arguably better suited as a vicious heel.
Either way, these two will inevitably have to clash with one another as they make their way up the NXT totem pole. Strong could develop his character in stern defiance of Sanity's rise to power, while Eric Young could build his heel performer by taking out another one of NXT's hopeful stars.
