10 Pro Wrestlers Accused Of Heinous Crimes

6. Jerry Lawler

Jerry "The King" Lawler is one of the most beloved figures in all of WWE. He's a fixture at the commentary table on Raw each and every week, offsetting the obnoxious-turned-staid Michael Cole and the bombastic JBL. When Lawler nearly died after suffering a heart attack at the booth in 2012, it seemed as though the entire industry rallied to his side.

Things haven't always been so rosy for "The King," though. Apart from briefly leaving WWE in 2001, Lawler was also pulled from events in late 1993 after he was indicted for raping and sodomizing a 15-year-old girl. As Lawler faced potential jail time, he was pulled from his match at the 1993 Survivor Series (to be replaced by Shawn Michaels). Vince McMahon, who was actually running an angle in Lawler's USWA promotion as a heel manager, immediately left, putting the kibosh on the feud.

Eventually, Lawler's accuser admitted that she made up the story (either some of it or all of it, depending on the account) for reasons which were never clear. The charges were all dropped, and Lawler returned to WWE.
