10 Pro Wrestling Moves That Need To Die

6. Tower Of Dooms

The bad thing about creativity in professional wrestling is that it's only a matter of time before that "innovation" gets shoved down your throat on a nightly basis - because the wrestling industry refuses to simply let a good thing die. They'd much rather murder it with repetition.

The Tower of Doom certainly falls into this category.

Popularised in TNA in the mid-2000s, these multi-man, mega-move concoctions are some of the most contrived set pieces you're likely to see inside the squared circle. And yet, you can't help but be a little mesmerised by the suplexes being stacked on top of back body drops being stacked on top of power bombs being stacked on top of...

Basically, it's every power move that can be performed off the top turnbuckle all stuffed into one, which sounds awesome.

After you've seen all the usual combinations of layered super moves, however, these Rube Goldberg maneuvers lose their flair. Instead, they become time-consuming, momentum-killing, Cirque du Soleil auditions that somehow find their way into the middle of too many good wrestling matches.
