10 Pro Wrestling Moves That Need To Die

5. Any Finisher That SHOULD Hurt The Guy Giving It

There are certain moves that look like they hurt the person doing it more than the person taking it. For example, every time a wrestler performs a dive onto an opponent who has a chair or ladder placed over them, you fully expect their internal organs to explode on impact.

But this isn't about those kind of moves.

No, the real problem is the finishers that, from a kayfabe perspective, should absolutely hurt the person performing the move and yet, they appear unaffected.

Baron Corbin does a move called the End of Days, an awkwardly performed Reverse STO, in which he essentially gives himself a Rock Bottom. Seriously, the two wrestlers follow the exact same movements as the typical side slam, except that it's the person in The Rock's usual position that is now magically damaged by it.

R-Truth's Little Jimmy, the Flatliner, and countless other finishers have followed this same pattern. Also, several wrestlers perform shoddy versions of the Russian Leg Sweep that also face this kayfabe conundrum. Apparently it only hurts the person it's supposed to hurt and that's good enough reasoning for the wrestling universe.
