10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About WrestleMania 33

3. Goldberg Can't Go

WWE haven’t announced WrestleMania 33’s official main event yet, but it’s widely expected that Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar will go last. This has been the case since the match was first speculated, and it brings a huge set of problems to the table. Goldberg has lasted fewer than six minutes in the ring since returning, and in all likelihood, we’re looking at a two-three minute main event on Sunday night.

Is this long enough for a WrestleMania headliner? WWE will pad it out with ring entrances and other smoke and mirrors, but expecting them to wrestle for much longer is unrealistic. Goldberg can barely reach the ring without breaking sweat, and his body just isn’t equipped to take more than a couple of moves.

Speaking on Edge & Christian’s Pod of Awesomeness last week, Goldberg admitted that his return has taken a huge physical toll, and the WWE schedule is making him “miserable.” The fact that he has taken just a single F5 since October emphasises this, and in all likelihood, WrestleMania’s main event will resemble an extended angle, not a wrestling match. Sadly, this is what happens when you build your show around a 50-year-old who has barely wrestled in 12 years.
