10 Problems With Booking John Cena Vs Brock Lesnar At WWE SummerSlam
8. Cena Has Recently Missed Tapings Of Raw
Usually in the WWE, the one man you can rely on to be around for every TV taping in which he's required is John Cena. Hell, even when the WWE go on tour Cena is usually incredibly prominent, which is somewhat obvious, given the amount he makes the company in merchandising. However, it seems the bug several stars have got in regards to taking time off has also rubbed off onto John Cena, who has also been missing shows recently. He's been away shooting movies in the run up to SummerSlam - which is hardly ideal for someone who's supposed to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He even missed the post-Battleground edition of Raw, when Triple H announced that it would indeed be Lesnar who would take on the champ at SummerSlam. It seems peculiar that the guy who holds the belts wasn't in the building when his challenger was declared for one of the biggest shows of the year - but that's the WWE for you. It's going to get even more bizarre when it comes to Cena's schedule though, as he's currently not advertised to appear at the August 4th edition of Raw - meaning he'll only have one taping of Raw between the time of writing and SummerSlam itself. Given how Cena and Brock haven't even stood in a ring together yet (and aren't likely to until at least six days before the event), it just seems stupid that the WWE would choose now as the time to throw the two together in a title storyline. Nobody is saying there's a problem with Cena going off to shoot movies - but should he really be the champion when he's taking so much time off? At a time when CM Punk walked out on the company and Daniel Bryan is sidelined with injury, this scheduling is far from ideal.
