5. They Have Almost No History
Of Undertaker's many, many WrestleMania bouts, his best are generally considered to be the consecutive Shawn Michaels showdowns in 2009 and 2010. Part of the reason is undoubtedly the excellent in-ring performance by both men, but that's not the only factor. However fantastic a match is from an in-ring perspective, it will always be improved by a better storyline - especially at 'Mania. Aside from a very brief feud in 2003, Cena and Undertaker have had very little interaction with one another, surprising for two men with such longevity. Undertaker and HBK's rivalry stretched all the way back to 1997, and contained many dramatic chapters (such as the first ever Hell in a Cell match, the DX vs. Undertaker feud, and the Deadman's inability to get a decisive win over the Showstopper). Even Undertaker's match with Triple H at WrestleMania XXVII - which featured a very minimalistic build and was announced in a segment with no words at all - had the full weight of history behind it. It followed nicely on from the feud with Michaels, the pair had already clashed at WrestleMania X-Seven, and both were surviving Attitude Era figureheads. Undertaker and Cena have no such history to speak of. They fought at Vengeance 2003 (a match Undertaker won clean) and have barely crossed paths since. So what would they build from?
