10 Problems WWE Faces After WrestleMania 33

2. Ratings Will Continue To Fall

One of the most troubling wrestling trends over the past few years has been the steady free fall of TV ratings. Ratings have actually been declining steadily since 2001, but the trend has exacerbated since 2014, with many pointing to the Roman Reigns push as the chief factor in speeding up the drop.

WWE, for its part, doesn't really care - their Network model ensures that TV ratings and PPV numbers don't affect their bottom line. However, they'll need to be concerned once it comes time to renegotiate their contracts with the USA Network. The money they get from USA will legitimately make or break them, and if they can't command the same price the next time they sign a contract, they're in huge trouble.

In any case, the nature of the wrestling schedule means that ratings will drop following WrestleMania - maybe not immediately after, as there'll be buzz amid new storylines, but by the summer, expect RAW and SmackDown to be below where they are now.

Once football season starts, the company may start setting new records again - the bad kind.
