10 Problems WWE MUST Solve In The 2021 Draft

1. A Star-Making Number One Pick

If you present someone as a big deal, they will feel like a big deal.

This is an issue that the main roster has had for a long, long time. Karrion Kross has not felt like a convincing competitor on Raw because the company has bungled his arrival to Monday nights. The same can be said about almost any NXT call-up. One of the few exceptions to this rule was Finn Balor.

After being the fifth overall pick for Raw in the 2016 Draft, Balor was immediately slotted into the main event scene with a big win over Roman Reigns. The Draft is the perfect place for a new star to debut and all WWE needs to do is have this relatively unknown be a number one pick.

For example, if Keith Lee was picked first, it would show that he is one of the top guys in the company and that he is (in kayfabe) highly valued. Not only that, but it could also then lead into a storyline with The Tribal Chief as Roman would feel neglected and undervalued.

This is a huge way to establish a new star and WWE is currently very lacking in star power.
