Post-Draft excuses like the "Superstar Shake-Up" and "Wild Card Rule" can get right in the bin. They expose the Draft hysteria as fake, and tell the full story of a creative process that struggles to go five minutes without tweaking something for the f'n sake of it.

Most fans fully expect WWE to introduce some lame crossover escape clause mere months after the 2023 Draft. This is a talk Vince McMahon, Triple H and the rest of the creative types must have with themselves, because they're responsible for going back on promises that rosters will be "ironclad" once they've been thrashed out on telly.

That's rarely the case, but it should be.

Theoretically, WWE puts a lot of thought into who's going where and why. They should be able to map out playbooks for both major brands pre-Draft, then stick to them for approx 12 months. Is that really too much to ask from the folks writing this stuff?!
