The world of mixed martial arts has already produced some pretty fantastic WWE superstars, including Ken Shamrock and an even more badass version of Brock Lesnar, and as the UFC grows into an even flashier product, the barrier between the worlds will become even smaller.

There's a place for MMA guys on the card, if for no other reason than to give Lesnar a legitimate adversary at a big pay-per-view.

Conor McGregor, by all accounts, seems to be the most natural fit for WWE. For starters, he's a supremely colourful individual who speaks with an effortless cool and menace. Watch any interview he's done on the late night talk show circuit and you'll see a talker who doesn't need much help from the writers when it comes time to cut promos.

He's also the reigning Featherweight champion and has a superb 19-3 fighting record. So yeah, he could pose a threat.

Yes, he's a skinny guy and would look absolutely ridiculous stepping into a WWE ring at only 145 pounds. But seeing as how he's competed in the Welterweight division - which ranges from 156 to 170 pounds - it wouldn't be out of the question for him to pack on some extra weight for a one-off PPV appearance.
