Anyone upset that American football players seem to be taking over this list needs to remember that it's one of the few sports to combine agility, quickness, and most importantly, hitting people while flying through the air. Also, they have built-in name recognition with 64 percent of the United States population.

So...sorry. It just makes sense.

Regardless of your feelings on the sport, however, you have to admit that James Laurinaitis is an intriguing short-term WWE prospect. The former St. Louis Ram has some added marquee value, being not just one of the best linebackers in the NFL, but also the son of Road Warrior Animal.

Which, by the way, also makes him the nephew of both Johnny Ace and Marcus Laurinaitis, better known as The Terminator.

Professional wrestling is in his blood and it's likely only a matter of time until he gets the itch to lace up some boots and give it a go, if only so he can finally get his family off his back during holiday get-togethers.

The guy is a tackling machine, and piling up more takedowns than any other Rams player in history. That requires a mix of agility, awareness, and brute strength. All of those skills are incredibly valuable inside the ring.
