10 Questions For Molly Holly

One More Match!

Bayley Charlotte NXT

6: I'm sure you've been asked many times, but if you did come back for one more match, who would it be against?

Well, right now it would be Charlotte. I think she’s just phenomenal in the ring. She’s just such a natural, and a great athlete, and can have a good match with anybody. I think back when I was still competing, we could have really worked well together.

5. Your last match ever (besides the WrestleMania XXV battle royal) was teaming up with Trish and losing to Victoria and Christy Hemme. Did you know at the time you were basically done for good? And was there ever any interest in showing up in TNA when they really pushed the Knockouts Division?

You know, Gail Kim used to tell me all the time that I should come join! She kept saying to me 'C'mon, it would be so great, and there's all this cool stuff we could do together!' But I just wasn't interested. I was fine with stepping away, and watching the talent they had there putting on great matches. But I didn't have the desire to get back in or join TNA.

I never had this big idea in my mind of how I wanted to go out. I was just done, and really wanted to move forward with my life and do different things. I’m glad to be able to pass on what I’ve learned now, but yeah, during that time I just didn’t want to be involved anymore. I was beat up and tired of it.

I was sick of being called fat on TV every week, I was sick of the crowd yelling insulting things at me. I know that’s part of the business, but I just wasn’t happy being in that role as a heel. Other people can, and they enjoy that sort of thing, but it wasn’t for me, and I was completely burned out. So I just told Vince McMahon that I was done, and wanted out of my contract.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
