10 Questions Stone Cold Must Ask Dean Ambrose On His WWE Podcast
8. How Was The Mick Foley Feud Supposed To Go?
Ambrose signed with WWE in 2011 and soon debuted in the company's Florida Championship Wrestling developmental territory. It wasn't long before he became a hot commodity, and his first flirtation with the main roster came in the form of a feud with Mick Foley.
The feud, which began with Ambrose confronting Foley at WrestleMania Axxess in 2012, centered around "The Lunatic Fringe" blaming "The Hardcore Legend" for inspiring a generation of new workers - himself included - to take unnecessary and unsafe risks with their bodies. It had the potential to make Ambrose an immediate name in WWE, but it ended prematurely.
Taking the feud to Twitter, Ambrose posted something that Foley interpreted as offensive toward his family. He contacted Ambrose about taking it down, but "The Lunatic Fringe" was out of the country and didn't receive Foley's message. The three-time WWE Champion interpreted Ambrose's silence as disrespect (they soon smoothed things over), and the feud was dropped.
How was the Foley program - which could have potentially been great - supposed to go? Was it going to become a part of WWE programming, or would it have been resolved in NXT? Was there ever supposed to be a match between the two, or did it not even get that far?
