How was Billy Corgan’s arrival received in TNA, given that he is someone from outside of the wrestling business?

You’re wondering about it because it seems like such a strange scenario? Why is a world famous rock star coming in to deal with wrestling? And then, after meeting him for the very first time and talking a little bit of shop to him, you’re like, “Why does this guy know so much about wrestling?” It’s insane. The guy is a complete encyclopedia, he knew everything about everything. He’s super smart, he has his values in wrestling that are the same kind of values that harken back, not so much to the old school but the old way of storytelling. You know, good long stories that make sense, not like crash TV so to speak, getting away from shock values and creating compelling characters that you want to pay money to see win or lose.

He has a lot of knowledge of the territorial days that I think are missing nowadays, a good solid foundation for booking. I was very impressed talking to him and I think he’s going to be a great asset because he’s going to bring a modern take on the old school in a vision going forward of creating these compelling characters who are three-dimensional , not black and white, but shades of grey; characters with real motivation as to why they want to succeed in this industry, in this little bizarre world of pro wrestling .
