10 Quick Fixes To Save The WWE Brand Split
6. Allow Trades Between Brands
In previous Brand Splits from years gone by, one key element
of the drama was the potential to trade certain talents. Back in 2004, for
example, we saw Triple H drafted from Raw to SmackDown, only to be traded back
to Raw before even making his debut for the brand.
So far though, there hasn’t really been a mention of a trading system in the most recent iteration of the Brand Split.
There’ve been rumours of possible ideas for trades, while Cesaro’s dissatisfaction—real-life or not—has also got people thinking about a potential swap deal with a SmackDown Superstar.
Even though nothing’s been confirmed yet, nor has it even been speculated with any real authority, for me the introduction of trades would be a positive development for the Brand Split. Not only would this keep fans occupied with hours of fantasy booking, but it could spawn a one-off show permitting these trades—kind of like the January transfer window—which would likely make for an exciting evening.
Most importantly though, it would allow underused guys to be
part of a storyline and hopefully be afforded some more air time.
