10 Quick Fixes To Save The WWE Brand Split

5. Some “Loser Leave Town” Matches

Then again, there’s one major flaw with a potential trade system, and that’s the fact that the Raw and SmackDown brands weren’t exactly split evenly. Raw’s pesky third-hour meant that they received three picks to every two of SmackDown, so it could be hard to make a trade appear to be worth it.

Say SmackDown, with their obviously weaker roster, wanted to trade one guy for two, three, or maybe four in a bid to bolster their ranks. The big problem there though, is that they’d have to lose a pretty major star in order to convince Raw to make the trade.

One way of getting around this obstacle would be for Raw to stage a good, old-fashioned Loser Leaves Town match. Or rather, a Loser Leaves The Brand match, as the case would be in this instance.

It’s a double-whammy; Raw gets to stage an exciting match that they can base a decent storyline around, while SmackDown can eventually recruit the discarded star and even the playing field to a degree.

Although, admittedly they’d be inheriting a “loser,” so perhaps this isn’t such a great plan after all...
