10 Quick WWE Fixes To Save Randy Orton

6. A Feud With Sami Zayn

Christian is something of an antecedent to Sami Zayn. Both are immensely gifted. Both are pale and slight of physique - two big Vince McMahon No-nos, with sneezing completing the unholy trinity. Both seem to trigger the boss man by virtue of simply existing.

So why not channel these similarities and have Zayn enter a lengthy feud with a heel Randy Orton? The matches would be dynamite. Most of Sami Zayn's are, when he isn't positioned as a sentient punching bag. Orton, too, excels when wrestling somebody of Zayn's ultra-athletic vintage. The prospect of a catch RKO reversal from Zayn's turnbuckle DDT is the stuff of which meme dreams are made - perhaps glorious enough to reignite the RKO OUTTA NOWHERE trend that WWE did not a lot with.

Orton has been handed thankless tasks in 2017. His matches with Bray Wyatt ranged from dull to embarrassing. The Jinder Mahal stuff has evaporated from the memory. The best thing about those matches - the Singh Brothers' bonkers bumping - were incidental. This recent Rusev rivalry might deliver in the ring, but it's essentially a summation of WWE's inability to recognise what the company wants from its fanbase.

Orton Vs. Zayn would remind everybody why both men are special talents. Two birds, one stone. We've been here before.
