Over a quarter of a century later and people are still mad about this match.

WrestleMania IX was - and this is putting it delicately - a dumpster fire. Uninspired matches, a lack of star power, and a main event that was enough to put anyone off wrestling forever.

The advertised final bout of the show pitted WWF Champion, Bret Hart, against Yokozuna for the title. The gigantic sumo wrestler was a huge liability and a large section of the match had to be cut because Yokozuna was so out of breath.

Yokozuna eventually defeated Hart to become the new champion, which should have been the end of the night. Sadly, it wasn't.

Hulk "Why Aren't I In The Main Event, Brother?" Hogan came running down to the ring and was challenged to an impromptu title match by Yokozuna's manager, Mr. Fuji. Hogan accepted, dodged interference from Fuji, and pinned the champ in just 22 seconds.

Hogan's spontaneous title win was the ultimate example of backstage politicking interfering with the televised product. It was very much the bad icing on the bad cake, but at least it was all over in less than half a minute.
