10 Radical Ideas To Save WrestleMania 32

8. The United States Championship

Assuming that whatever nonsense that€™s currently going on with Kaisto fizzles out by the beginning of April, Alberto Del Rio should defend his US title against both Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens in a triple threat match. It€™s a situation that writes itself. Jericho is only back to bolster an ailing roster and receive a Royal Rumble/Wrestlemania payday. He€™s playing the least interesting, easiest version of the Y2J character - the one that Brandon Stroud calls €˜Cool Dad€™ - so of course he€™d challenge the dead-eyed ghoul wearing Alberto Del Rio€™s skin for the least important singles title in the company. Equally, once Owens fails to beat Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship in their current feud and fails to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble, the douchebag prizefighter would naturally try to swap back to competing for the other singles title, and insert himself into the running at Wrestlemania. The finish really isn€™t that important, but I like the idea of Owens being a shade away from winning, only for Sami Zayn to cost him the title. The very, very first thing his former best friend and current nemesis should do upon being called up is to kick Kevin Owens in the face€ but even if he€™s still an NXT guy (especially if he€™s the champion by then), Sami Zayn should (kayfabe) cost money and status obsessed Owens a big money payout at Wrestlemania. It€™s too good to pass up.
