10 Radical Ideas To Save WrestleMania 32

3. The Undertaker Angle

Who should the Undertaker face at Wrestlemania 32, if Cena's out of action? Well, time to bite the bullet. For two or three years now, Kurt Angle has been teasing wanting to run out his wrestling career where it started. Right now is the perfect time to bring him back in... but he€™s confirmed to be winding up with TNA on their UK tour, which has him finishing with them right at the end of this month, thereby missing out the possibility of a Royal Rumble return. So how about this? Angle interrupts a Paul Heyman promo on RAW the week after the Royal Rumble, putting over how close Brock Lesnar came to winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Roman Reigns (and more on that in a moment). Angle being back in a WWE ring is an automatic monster babyface pop€ but we can do better than that. His return promo with Heyman can address his old rivalry with Lesnar, both in the ring and backstage, hinting at regret that he didn€™t get a chance to go to the UFC because he€™d have kicked Lesnar€™s ass there, too. Finally, he can get to the point properly: he€™s jealous, because he wanted to be the one to break the Undertaker€™s Streak. He knows he could have done it€ he was training for it, waiting for the right moment, when Brock goddamned Lesnar charged in and stole his thunder again. That€™s when we get the challenge to the Dead Man. The Streak may be long gone€ but Angle just has to know whether he could have done it too: beaten the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Naturally, the affront is too big for the Phenom to pass up, and the challenge is accepted. These two used to be amazing together in the ring, so the odds are good that we get a Wrestlemania bout that restores a little of the Undertaker€™s past glories. Provided the match kills it, the outcome isn€™t really that important - neither man desperately needs the win anymore, and the story is all about Angle€™s jealousy. His slightly heelish whining about missed opportunities and being envious of Lesnar in the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania paves the way for a proper heel turn on the night itself, and money feuds with Cena, with Reigns, even with Lesnar, finally putting over younger stars like Cesaro before retiring and being inducted into next year€™s Hall Of Fame.
