10 Radical Ideas To Save WWE Money In The Bank
7. The Multiple Gimmick Gimmick
There’s no Cornette-style Unbreakable Law Of Pro Wrestling Booking that requires the Money In The Bank contract to be won in a ladder match.
The fact is, the Money In The Bank gimmick could easily be transferred to any number of other gimmick matches. If you fear change, then the match is easily transferable to a TLC situation - and if a cage match would be too crowded, then five or more men can easily fit inside the Hell In A Cell.
A last man standing match only really works with two people - but you get the same ‘last man on his feet’ cachet with the Survivor Series team elimination format. Why not have the briefcase contested in a singles elimination match - or even in the Elimination Chamber?
Why not have it contested in the much-maligned Championship Scramble match? The rules were never as complicated as everyone made out, and the only really valid criticism was that it devalued the championship that the men in the ring were competing for to have ‘interim champions’ cropping up with every pinfall or submission. That wouldn’t happen if the objective wasn’t the title itself, but the Money In The Bank briefcase.
There are bound to be other gimmicks that work. Let’s get creative!
