10. Get The Title Off The Celtic Nonentity As Soon As Possible
Sheamus may have been the Money In The Bank briefcase holder since June, but hes barely been promoted as such, or as the main event contender he was supposed to be. Oh, occasionally hed show up with the briefcase and heelishly taunt the latest contender with his mysterious Powers Of Cashing In but prior to this Sunday just gone, the Celtic Warrior hadnt been in a genuine storyline since his rather dull feud with Randy Orton ended at Summerslam. In the three months between SummerSlam and Survivor Series, Sheamus had a couple of unexceptional televised victories and a casual association with Barrett and Rusev that barely even qualified as a team-up. In point of fact, at Survivor Series itself, Sheamus was just one of a long list of WWE undercard performers who the company had no plans for until the day itself, thrown into hastily cobbled-together elimination tag matches at the last minute. The word is that the outcome of the hunt for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship was only decided at the Philips Arena in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon - and you can be assured that the question was never, is Sheamus our guy? but always is Roman Reigns walking out of here with the title? Sheamus isnt their guy. The impression he left at Sundays big event before he cashed in was as the junior partner for The New Days act: his abject failure to appear fly enough to hang with them was one of WWEs rare successful attempts at comedy, and when the trio abandoned the match, Sheamus, an afterthought once more, was left to face Ryback, Kalisto and an Uso on his own. Now, the main event Celtic Warrior of old would have stomped all over the three of them. Not the Sheamus of 2015. He was portrayed as comically out of his depth during the next five minutes, desperate and frustrated, unable even to eliminate whichever Uso he was facing. When Ryback took him out, he didnt even bother pinning him for the full three-count - he was already dismissively getting up as the referees hand came down the third time. The only possible reason for Sheamus to hold the title is because it keeps Reigns in the hunt, where their storyline requires him for the moment. Hes a placeholder: hes not holding the gold at all, hes just hanging onto it and running away while the real main event star chases him. Get it off him as soon as its practical to do so: hes been booked as such a nonentity recently that hes actually damaging the titles aura by holding it, and no one really wants to see Roman Reigns in a months-long feud with this guy over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
