9. Give Him A Reason To Win
As soon as we understand what drives him, why hes wrestling people at all and especially in the biggest wrestling promotion on earth, then one of the fundamental things about Wyatt needs to change. He needs to want to win. At present, simply winning a wrestling match is beneath him. Just as with normal characters, taking part in a match has to mean something beyond waiting for the post-match beatdown or promo to the crowd. If the win means nothing, theres no reason for anyone to bother watching him compete. Bray Wyatt needs to have a clearly defined reason to want to win matches and, potentially, a championship. Other, less complex characters have the thrill of competition, the lust for glory and power, the increase in status and earning potential, or just because theyre narcissistic assh***s. What does Bray Wyatt want from a win? If he was entered into another tournament for the top title in the industry, what would it mean to the Family for him to win? Once Bray Wyatt becomes invested in winning and losing, we have the opportunity - finally - to also become invested in whether he wins or loses. Right now, the Bray Wyatt character simply doesnt care. Since his wins dont mean anything to him, only his losses have significance - which means the only way is down for him.
