10 Realistic Storylines That Would Be Perfect For Today's WWE

2. John Cena Being Forced To Retire So That He Doesn't End Up Crippled Or Dead

No matter how much he might believe in his own endurance, Cena must certainly be feeling the effects of intense travel, a taxing wrestling schedule, and very little time to relax. He€™s had his share of injuries, but that hasn€™t stopped WWE from booking Cena as their most prominent superstar. But has anyone stopped to ask, €˜what is all this doing to Cena€™s body?€™ With news of Cena taking time off this is a perfect time to set up a storyline where he begins to question his long-term future. The idea would be that Cena€™s in-ring style and injury history have led the company to force him into retirement like Edge, in order to avoid a situation like Eddie Guerrero€™s. By blurring the lines between script and reality, WWE would create genuine interest in a WWE storyline in a way that hasn€™t been seen in a long time. Cena€™s biggest fans would be even more interested in seeing their superhero overcome his own body wearing down, while others would want to see how Cena the person would deal with his body telling him to call it a career. With so much focus on wrestlers€™ heath these days, this would be the perfect way for WWE to show that, not only do they care about their roster€™s health, but that they€™re smart enough to put that health ahead of the profit margin.
