10 Reason WWE Reality Era Is Already Faltering

9. Reality Era And TV-PG Do Not Mix

The WWE has been pushing a reality based product, while also confining themselves to a TV-PG rating, resulting in a quite a conundrum. The real world, twitter, and really television in general do not tend to be PG, so if one wants to blur the lines of reality within their product it would seem relatively difficult to do so and keep things PG rated. Especially when your product is centered around violence. Even the company's hit reality show Total Divas on E! carries a TV-14 rating. Why would their primary television show, Monday Night RAW, carry anything different? The answer or solution to this problem isn't necessarily that they have to go all the way back to the extremes of the Attitude Era, but there has to be some happy medium in between in order to not insult the intelligence of the adult audience that they are trying to convince into spending money on the WWE Network. The era of PG content has ran its course, Linda McMahon is not running for Senate any longer, so there is no reason to continue to push this aspect of programming. The Wyatt family already has been pushing the boundaries between PG and TV-14, so they might as well break down that wall.
