Shortly into his first WWE World Heavyweight Title reign, it was revelealed that Daniel Bryan was suffering from a serious neck injury. Granted, there is nobody to blame in this circumstance, as Bryan has been wrestling a very physical style for over a decade. But it can not be debated that this latest injury has taken some wind out of the WWE flagship's sails. While Bryan did a good job selling the fact on RAW that this could be a career threatening injury, the WWE actually expects Bryan back in the ring for Money in the Bank. Despite the relatively minor time off, this has taken the company's top championship out of the conversation for the time being. For long time fans, the timing of this injury brings back memories of Steve Austin's neck injury in the summer of 1997. Though Austin's injury was much more serious, it was similar in regards to taking the company's hottest act off the road just as things were starting to click for that wrestler. Austin came back from his injury to lead the WWE into an era of unprecedented growth, what are the odds that Bryan will do the same? More on that later.
