10 Reasons To Believe Sting's WWE Debut Is Imminent

7. The SummerSlam Moment

Sting's presence on SummerSlam will elevate it from a big event into a massive event. He's one of the most talked about wrestlers on the planet, and that's even before he's stepped foot in the WWE ring! Social media and news outlets are going to go into overdrive when he actually debuts. That's exactly the explosion of exposure that WWE need right now. Network subscriptions remain below par, a Sting appearance at SummerSlam could really ignite the market. The question is, do WWE announce it ahead of time or go with the surprise angle? Presuming the deal gets signed this weekend, it would probably be a great final selling point if WWE break the news on the Sunday. That makes sense. Contrastingly, maybe they keep it a shock for the show. That would create more of a pop moment and reverberate with a bigger buzz. The deeper message would be that you can't afford to miss a WWE show, you never know what may happen. Another option is WWE do what they did with Goldberg in 2003. At WrestleMania 19 they debuted a vignette promoting his persona, with his on-screen debut coming the next night on Raw. That could be a smart thing to do with Sting. Run the vignette at SummerSlam, save the appearance for Raw. All we know for sure right now is the rumours around Sting's debut at SummerSlam won't go away. The old saying "There's no smoke without fire" might apply this weekend.
