10 Reasons Brock Lesnar Must Have A Long WWE Title Reign

2. The WWE Championship Becomes A Special Attraction

There was a time when fans could only see the WWE champion if the frequented arenas across the country. Very rarely did he appear on free television in an actual match and not every one of the pay-per-views were headlined by a title bout. As a result, it made the few defenses he made in front of cameras that much more special, that much more important and that much more must-see. WWE has the opportunity to make Lesnar an old-school champion, the type that can be counted on to deliver a big buyrate or return on their investment thanks to the fact that fans do not see him every week and thus, are more likely to pay to see his next contest. Give the people less and they will want more. Supply and demand at its finest. Make title defenses a rarity and everyone will have to rush to their televisions, order pay-per-view or subscribe to the WWE Network and the company will reap the rewards. It is a method of booking that worked for generations before the boom in the mid-90s necessitated a change in philosophies and one that could work today, at least on a limited basis. It would be wise for WWE to attempt it, giving Lesnar a lengthy run that eventually has fans begging to see someone try to beat him in a major pay-per-view main event. They must be careful, though, because the moment they overexpose him is the moment the allure is gone.
