10 Reasons Brock Lesnar Must Have A Long WWE Title Reign

6. Mainstream Attention

As mentioned previously, Brock Lesnar has a measure of mainstream stardom that other Superstars on today's roster simply cannot claim. When he competes in a match, those in the sports world sit up and take note because they appreciate the freakish athlete that he is. They watched him defeat Frank Mir and Shane Carwin in impressive fashion and lead UFC to heights of popularity it had never experienced before. He was the face of MMA for a brief period in time before injuries and serious illness forced him out of that industry and back to the wrestling world. WWE has done such a great job of treating Lesnar as if he is something special, a competitor that exceeds the importance of most others to the extent that fans should get excited to see him perform. That ESPN personalities Bill Simmons and Michelle Beadle are admitted wrestling fans and have no problem discussing Lesnar while bringing up sports-entertainment is such a big deal for WWE and its attempts to promote their product to a wider audience. Having Ronda Rousey and the Four Horsewomen show up at this year's show also helps bring attention to the sport and a lot of that has to do with positioning Lesnar at the top of the card, as they have three years in a row, now. Protecting him, continuing to promote him as champion will only help bring attention and legitimacy to the product from those outside the wrestling business.
