10 Reasons CM Punk Left WWE At The Worst Time

9. Unfinished Business With Triple H

The Summer of Punk storyline back in 2011 was the biggest of Punk's career. That angle saw him drop the pipebomb on Raw, which was quickly followed by his meteoric rise to the top. He beat John Cena at Money in the Bank that year, winning the WWE Championship and turning the company upside down. However it was the loss that he suffered to Triple H three months after dominating the industry that still does not sit very well with fans. The fact is that going down to The Game was a moment that killed the majority of Punk's momentum. The Second City Saint went from being what many felt was the top guy to being just the next guy to job for Triple H. Had he stayed, he could have had a shot at redemption. Elimination Chamber could have been the night that Punk's character got his vengeance on the boss and brought his monumental three year run full circle. Going over on Triple H would have been a great moment for fans that wanted to see it happen back in 2011 and it could have been the precursor to more gratifying moments. Those moments could have included Punk perhaps going over for the WWE title at WrestleMania 30. That win could have led to a feud between he and Daniel Bryan, with a series of matches that undoubtedly would have been the highlight of 2014. Punk versus Bryan could have made some serious money but unfortunately, it was not meant to be.
