The one thing CM Punk wanted the most in WWE was to be the last match at a WrestleMania. He's headlined every other show and won all the major titles he could win, but he didn't get to wrestle last at a WrestleMania. He was happy that Daniel Bryan got to do it at WrestleMania 30, so that should be pointed out too. He mentioned that prior to his exit this year he was told that his match with Triple H would be like a main event match. Of course it wouldn't be the last match, so in Punk's eyes that was just something WWE said to make him happy. WWE likes to say they have three or four "main event" matches at WrestleMania every year even though to the average fan it's really just the last match that fits that label. That's how Punk looks at it too and he's right to think that way. Punk told stories about how Vince McMahon told him wrestling The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 was like a main event and they even told him his match should go on last. The thing is, Rock vs. Cena II was a huge deal and putting the WWE Title on Cena made sense as the last match. Punk suggested making it a triple threat with him being added to it, but WWE didn't want to do that. There was also a point in the podcast where Punk said he felt like a failure since he didn't headline a WrestleMania. He really shouldn't feel that way because he's one of the best performers of his era. No question about it.
