10 Reasons CM Punk Will Never Be Able To Move On From WWE

4. He Is Wrestling Famous, Not Hollywood Famous

CM Punk is one of the most popular Superstars to ever compete in Vince McMahon's ring. From his ability on the mic to the way he tells stories in the ring to everything in between, Punk's legacy is without equal and he is known to wrestling fans all over the world. However, does his fame begin and end in WWE circles? Punk has appeared in the mainstream media, most notably on AMC's The Talking Dead. He has also appeared on awards shows and has popped up at sporting events around the country. Every time he has, he is referred to as either "WWE Superstar" or "former WWE Superstar." Therein lies the issue with Punk leaving the business the way he did and also believing he will make an impact without the business supporting him. Punk is a character, he is a charming guy and has a way with words. He does have friends in the entertainment industry and chances are that with the right connections he can make it in another field of entertainment. However until that day comes, Punk is still pro wrestling famous, not Hollywood famous and there is a difference. Non WWE fans look at The Rock and they see an action star, not necessarily a pro wrestler. The same will likely soon be said of Batista after the worldwide success of Guardians of the Galaxy. Right now, Punk is still known as "former WWE Superstar." As long as that is the case, then he may find that WWE is the best place for him to fall back on in the long run.
