10 Reasons To Get Into New Japan Pro Wrestling

3. Kota Ibushi

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iDlh1dac-Y Kota Ibushi is a bit of an anomaly in Japanese wrestling, in that he€™s not signed to just one company. Instead he is in such demand that he has a unique dual contract with both New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Dramatic Dream Team to appear for both. Ibushi made his professional wrestling debut for DDT, which is one of the most unique promotions in the world. It€™s very off the wall, featuring Silence Matches where loud noises are forbidden from making loud noises, and formerly had a title called the GAY World Anal Championship. In DDT, Ibushi was most well known for his team with Kenny Omega, Golden˜†Lovers, and the pair are often showcased as best friends/arch rivals. In 2009, he made his New Japan debut as part of the Best of the Super Juniors Tournament and had classic matches with some of the best in the world such as Prince Devitt and Low-Ki. Ibushi has also wrestled extensively in America, most notably for the Philadelphia based CHIKARA promotion. His four-way eliminator with Jigsaw, Nick Jackson and El Generico (WWE€™s Sami Zayn) has been held up as one of the best matches in the company€™s history, mostly for the work by Ibushi and Generico. In 2013, he signed his dual contrac with DDT and New Japan, making him the first wrestler with two home promotions. He heads into the biggest match of his career at WrestleKingdom 9 as he takes on Shinsuke Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.
