10 Reasons Kurt Angle Deserves His WWE Hall Of Fame Induction
10. He’s Arguably The Best Wrestler Of His Generation
From a pure in-ring standpoint, no one can match Kurt Angle’s intensity (one of his beloved three “I’s”, along with integrity and intelligence), and if you go back to 1990, perhaps only one wrestler can lay claim to being in more great matches than him: Shawn Michaels.
While Steve Austin and The Rock were much bigger stars than Angle, neither of them could top him when it comes to pure match quality. Angle in his prime was like Ric Flair, in that he could make any wrestler look like a million bucks on any given night. He had so much talent that he could make up for his opponent's lack of it. He bumped around like nobody’s business, and had an unbelievable offensive arsenal that was highlighted with beautiful looking suplexes that were among the best in the industry.
It’s a bit of a shame that TNA wasn’t watched by as man fans over the years, as Kurt continued to tear it up in the much smaller promotion. While he’s certainly in the top 10 in producing the highest number of great matches in WWE, he perhaps only has A.J. Styles in his league when it comes to delivering classics in TNA. Both companies would have been sorely lacking without his presence.
To further establish his credentials in the ring, The Pro Wrestling Observer awarded him their wrestler of the decade from 2000 - 2009. That's pretty damn impressive. A WWE Hall of Fame without one of the greatest in-ring performers of all-time was a bit lacking. It's nice to see that glaring error will soon be fixed.
