10 Reasons We All Love WWE's Hell In A Cell Gimmick

3. The Cell Has Made Careers

When Mick Foley made his surprise appearance at Monday Night Raw last week, he went on record that he can pin-point the moment his career made a turn, and that he broke his career into two halves: pre-Cell and post-Cell. Indeed, Foley may never have been a WWF Champion or the Hardcore Legend had it not been for King of the Ring 1998. Also, when we look back in hindsight at Brock Lesnar€™s career, it seemed like a no-brainer that he€™d be an all-time great. However, at the time of his debut in 2002, there were still doubts about his legitimacy as a main event superstar. After all, he had only been in the company a few months. His performance in the Cell at No Mercy 2002 against The Undertaker proved that his meteoric rise in the WWE was not a fluke. The entire Batista/HHH feud of early 2005 took great steps to elevate Batista to the top of the company. But it was the blowoff in the Cell at Vengeance where Batista stepped over Triple H and proved he could carry feuds on his own. Both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are on the cusp of the top of the card. A fantastic performance could all but lock up their position for the near and distant future.
