10 Reasons May Is The Most Cursed Month In WWE History

2. The Death Of Randy Savage - May 20th 2011

Randy 'Macho Man' Savage was one of the most iconic WWF superstars ever, right up there Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. In addition to his memorable look, he was also a hell of an in-ring worker. His WrestleMania 3 match against Ricky Steamboat is regarded as one of the best Mania matches ever and Savage also enjoyed some level of success in WCW. Tragically his life was cut short on May 20th 2011. The Macho Man had passed out at the wheel of his jeep, causing him to crash the vehicle into a tree. At first it looked as if he died from the car crash, but the autopsy revealed he had heart disease, which was what had caused him to pass out at the wheel. Like many other talent from his era, Savage had an enlarged heart, he was unaware of the danger of his coronary heart disease and it looks like the oxygen to his heart muscle simply gave out on him. Yet another tragic life taken too soon, Savage was only 58. Controversially he still hasn't been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, although Vince McMahon did pay tribute by calling the Macho Man "One of wrestling's all-time greats."
