10 Reasons MMA/Wrestling Crossover Trend Is "Best For Business"

Only good things can happen from here.

We're full tilt in the MMA/Pro wrestling crossover. Never before have the two ventures been as closely linked as they are now. Forget that Ken Shamrock once made his way over to the WWE; now more than ever, the baddest men on the planet are looking to find work in the WWE, and the WWE superstars are considering crossing over to legitimate mixed martial arts to test their mettle. Why? For one, MMA was not really a profitable venture twenty years ago. The likes of The Undertaker, The Rock, and Kurt Angle have all stated that if it had been, they'd likely have gone that route. Now, MMA can pay - at least top stars - and it doesn't require a grueling travel schedule. On the flip side, many MMA stars have grown up as fans of the WWE. Look no further than women's champ Ronda Rousey, who takes her nickname from Rowdy Roddy Piper. She has been featured on screen on WWE programming, and it looks like she'll be back. As, possibly, will Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva. Former UFC fighter Matt Riddle is training for a pro wrestling career. Josh Barnett has done both, wrestling in Japan for quite some time. Is this trend "good for business?" Yes, yes, yes! Here are ten reasons why!
