10 Reasons Money In The Bank Was WWE's Best Show Of The Year

9. The Lesser Matches Were Excellent

As touched on in the last entry, it can be easy for undercard matches to be overshadowed on a show that features one incredible match, let alone three. Surprisingly, the marquee matches were accented perfectly.

A few of those matches will be mentioned in greater detail, but let's give props to the rest.

Apollo Crews' debut pay-per-view match did what it needed to do well. While it wasn't exactly a barn-burner, Crews earned his victory against a determined Sheamus in a match that made both men look very nifty.

Despite its difficult placement between the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and the main event, Rusev's US Title defence against Titus O'Neil was enjoyable for what it was. O'Neil never really stood much of a chance, but the purpose of the match was always for Rusev to claim another notch on his belt and hopefully gain heat as a heel.

Taking the opportunity to slander O'Neil to his children sat ringside, on Father's Day no less, was the cream on the cake.

You know a show is good when even a contest that has been repeated for three straight months is enjoyable. Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler were given ample time to tell a fun story, unlike in previous meetings, and Corbin came out looking a million dollars in what appears to be the pair's final clash.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
