10 Reasons NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 10 Will Be 2016's Best Show

7. First Time Ever: A ROH Championship Match At Wrestle Kingdom

Jay Lethal will defend his ROH Championship against Michael Elgin at Wrestle Kingdom 10. This is the first time ever that the ROH Title has been defended at a NJPW show, and there's perhaps nobody better for Lethal to defend against in Japan than Elgin. Elgin really made a name for himself this past Summer during the G1 Climax tournament, and he's sure to have a large percentage of the Tokyo Dome crowd behind him. Was the last time you saw Jay Lethal during his run imitating Randy Savage for TNA? If so, you've got a lot of catching up to do. Lethal has developed into, pound for pound, one of the best performers in all of wrestling; he has really grown into his own over the last year in Ring Of Honor. If you want to see how to successfully build up a match on the microphone, study the promos he directed at AJ Styles in advance of their ROH Final Battle bout. Lethal was always good on the mic, but it was his own character that needed a little bit more juice. Throughout 2015, he turned Jay Lethal the character into one of the most respected champions in wrestling. With Lethal's deal with ROH coming due early in the year, and no announcement yet regarding a new contract, it's possible the title could change hands in this match. This will also be the first time that Lethal has ever appeared for NJPW.
