10 Reasons Randy Orton's Slow Face Turn Is Best For Business
10. Vine Meme
Despite the popularity of professional wrestling, it's unusual for WWE to gain much traction with the mainstream, especially in the UK. However, Randy Orton has achieved that in recent weeks as a result of the "RKO Outta Nowhere" meme on video service Vine. It's a simple enough concept, as Orton's RKO finishing move is edited into videos of people falling over, often complete with excitable commentary from Michael Cole or Jim Ross. The meme has achieved enormous popularity, with every appearance of Randy Orton now complete with loud "RKO" chants at every possible opportunity. Every time Orton performs an RKO, there is a loud cheer that is completely incongruous when reacting to a heel. In fact, it's entirely possible that the combination of the film shoot and the "Outta Nowhere" meme has encouraged WWE to accelerate the face turn Orton was clearly already well on the way to performing. If the Vine meme keeps going for the next month, then it could add real fire to Orton's return to WWE programming. The fans will want to see Orton delivering RKOs aplenty to the Authority members who wronged him and, with his new babyface persona, the star may well be able to oblige. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsShHuJfgDc
