10 Reasons Re-watching WrestleMania XXX Is A Recipe For Depression

2. Legends Lost

Even though bringing in old faces and winking at history is something WWE does with some frequency, few events did memory lane quite like Mania XXX.

Before a single match began, they€™d already trotted out Hogan, Austin and Rocky for the kick-off. Backstage segments would follow later (silly though they were) which added Roddy Piper, Mr. Wonderful, Mr. T, Sgt. Slaughter, Jim Duggan, Ricky Steamboat, Ted DiBiase, Farrooq, and even Danny bloody Davis. Later during ringside salutes, we saw Dusty Rhodes, Bruno Sammartino, Harley Race, Bob Backlund and Bret Hart. For good measure, we saw Ultimate Warrior during the look back at the HOF ceremony.

It€™s pretty darn sad to think that in the short time since, we€™ve already lost Warrior (within days of Mania,) Dusty and Piper, not to mention Hitman has most definitely seen better days. Time goes by, and bad news happens every day, but these were some big names in a short spell.

It does, however, lighten the mood considerably when the ringside cameras cut to Bob Backlund just in time to catch him sucking something out of his teeth, looking crazier than he ever did in his heel days.
