10 Reasons Roman Reigns Will Win WWE Royal Rumble 2016

7. The Paradox Of Reigns Losing

With this year's Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns is the winner by default. Think about it, if he wins, he goes to the 'Mania main event. If he loses, he still gets to go to the 'Mania main event. In the latter scenario, it would be the rematch for his title. Either way, in the tradition of the Rumble crowning a WrestleMania main eventer, Reigns is already guaranteed that honour. You could argue that a rematch may take place at Fastlane and remove Reigns from the equation, but that's unthinkable. WWE didn't build the guy up for a year just to relegate him when he finally made it. Win or lose at the Rumble, it qualifies him for a WrestleMania main event. And that's why he's going to retain...because a loss would only serve the same purpose. It makes more sense that he wins and goes to 'Mania with momentum and this huge honour under his belt, rather than dropping the belt and going into the big show as a loser.
