10 Reasons Roman Reigns Won At WWE Fastlane 2016

5. The Hero For The Kids

Smart fans who get wound up about Roman Reigns are missing the point... the show isn't about them, and they're going to watch it regardless. For Vince McMahon, the show is about children, and it has been that way since John Cena was pushed to the top in 2006. The logic is that children are where the money is for merchandising, franchise deals, and dragging their parents along to events. It is also more attractive for television deals and franchise partners if WWE are appealing to that younger market. McMahon doesn't want to be an edgy UFC type show for adults, he'd far rather be an all encompassing Disney style empire. That's where the money is, and in appealing to that young audience, he needs a larger than life superhero like Roman Reigns. The plan is working on that front, with many of the young Cenation now on board with the Roman Empire. Like the generation who grew up on Hogan, or Warrior, or Cena, the long term hope is that WWE will have fans for life by catching the kids audience with Reigns.
