10 Reasons Why Sting Is Hesitant To Join WWE

2. Concern Over How He Might Be Used

This is a big one because Vince McMahon has never had Sting on his roster as a performer. He doesn't know the guy. Maybe they have talked before in negotiations, but he doesn't know him in terms of what he can bring to the table. Because of that, it's a possibility that Sting is worried that WWE won't know how to use him right. Think about some other former WCW guys that were World Champions that weren't booked right. They brought in Goldberg and quickly put him in a comedy bit with Goldust even though he should have only been booked like a badass. Scott Steiner (who did appear in WWE in the mid 90s before his main event run in WCW) was brought in as a babyface even though he was a clearly a heel. Both cases were examples of guys who were not booked to their strengths, which led to both of them remembered as flops. When WWE first bought WCW in 2001, Sting was always guy whose name would pop up as a possibility to go to WWE. Instead, he kept going back to TNA. Why? There were reportedly concerns on his end about how WWE would book him. Wrestlers have a lot of pride. They worry about their image all the time. If Sting was worried about how WWE was going to use him more than ten years ago then he could feel that way today too. Then again, maybe he really is headed there and it's just a matter of timing. It's an interesting story that isn't going away.
