10 Reasons To Be Nervous For WWE In 2020
6. The 'Fiend's' Inevitable Babyface Run
No wrestling company on the planet today has such a checkered history when it comes to booking babyfaces so poorly. After decades of properly promoting acts like Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin as good guys, WWE somehow forgot how to do it. They're behind the times when it comes to the wrestling baby.
That shouldn't fill anyone with confidence when it comes to Bray Wyatt.
Wyatt and his 'Fiend' alter ego will be babyfaces at some point. Instead of booking some interesting distinction between them (happy 'Firefly Fun House' baby Bray and nightmarish heel 'Fiend'), WWE will probs put all their chips on the good guy table and blow them within weeks. Again, they just don't seem capable of writing likeable faces these days.
The writers have already killed off much of the excitement Wyatt's creation had coming in, and they might not stop there. They've left no clues during this Seth Rollins mess that they'll be able to handle fans cheering for the 'Fiend' and write angles that keep those cheers coming.
