10 Reasons The Undertaker Rivalry Was CM Punk's Greatest Feud

3. Past Meets Present

Many of the opponents who squared off against the Undertaker in an attempt to end the Streak were very much members of his own generation. Although he had swatted away younger challengers like Randy Orton and Batista, the bulk of the Undertaker's WrestleMania bouts had been against his Attitude Era contemporaries, such as Shawn Michaels, Mark Henry and Triple H. At the 2013 Royal Rumble PPV, CM Punk featured in a clash of past versus present when his mammoth championship reign ended at the hands of The Rock. He again came up short against the wrestling icon at Elimination Chamber, setting up Rock's second clash with John Cena at WrestleMania. Challenging the Undertaker and his WrestleMania record gave CM Punk another opportunity to get one over on the wrestling stars of the past. Punk vs Taker was a compelling clash between the Attitude Era and the new 'Reality Era'. The battle of the two time periods sets the rivalry apart as Punk's best.
