5. Chavo Guerrero Has Found New Life As A Compelling Heel
http://youtu.be/gf4KFnK0Ixk Chavo Guerrero Jr. is one of the biggest names in the company. He's most known for his career in major American promotions like WWE, WWE and TNA, but now he's committed to Lucha Underground, which seems like the perfect fit for him. He started out as a babyface wrestler, but by the end of the second episode he turned heel. During the third episode, there was a sitdown interview with Chavo where he talked about how he had been doing things the Guerrero way out of respect, but now he's going to do things his way. All of a sudden, a guy that has been on television regularly for nearly 20 years is a compelling character again. There was also motivation for the turn as he tapped out to Blue Demon Jr. in the first match in Lucha Underground and then he attacked him with a chair. The story is that Blue Demon Jr. is a legend in lucha libre, so it was a chance for Chavo to send a message from his family. Whether the viewer at home knows about their history beforehand or not, they learned all about it in that two 2:20 interview with him. He also added that he was there to make himself a star. Chavo's also one of the producers of the show that helps put together the matches, so he's more than just an on screen talent. It's great to see that the legendary Guerrero family has a big role in the show because it's exactly the kind of thing that his family should be involved with.
