Right at the beginning of the show, Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson and Mark Madden sat there in front of viewers and informed them that the rules would be relaxed on the pay-per-view. This was the 'new WCW', a place where disqualifications weren't a focal point, and referees were only there to count falls.

Naturally, just a few matches in one of the bouts ended by disqualification. This completely undermined what the announcers had been talking about. Raking The Wall's eyes, Scott Steiner then placed a referee in front of his opponent and let the helpless official be hit with a Chokeslam through a table at ringside. The Wall was subsequently disqualified.

Later, Hulk Hogan stormed in on a match between Vampiro and Billy Kidman. Attacking the latter - whom he was feuding with at the time - Hogan blasted Kidman through the announce desk. Kidman was then hurled into the ring, and Vampiro pinned him. If The Wall was disqualified for attacking a referee, why wasn't Vampiro penalised for using blatant interference to aid his victory?
